Update 15 and 16
Well, Well, Well,
Another week has passed and I believe another week was lost, so here is an update with two times the scale! Sort of. I don’t have a whole lot extra to say, but here goes:
Over the past two weeks, I clocked about 20k words written! It sort of blows my mind that I have been able to find a way to type out my stories instead of handwriting them, and 20k words in two weeks is even more than my initial, like, “Whoa” goal of 8k words per week. When I include that I am typing instead of handwriting, and probably doubling my productivity, I am way ahead of where I was even three months ago.
As I continue to write and develop my stories, too, I become ever more comfortable with the voices of my characters and my own voice as a writer. Last week when I got back into writing Path of The Chosen, after my week of vacation, it felt easy to pick back up. I feel like the writing is faster and my decision-making is becoming more clear and precise in what direction I am going to take as I write each chapter.
It’s also been amazing to have another story that I am working on concurrently that is a little less of a mystery, and or has fewer twists and turns and secrets. The Gates of Antillion, which is what I am temporarily, place holder, naming my fantasy/dualist story, has been awesome in that regard. There is the story, there is a mystery, and we do not find out everything all at once, but there is not a whole lot of deception and it is a way straighter and clearer story than PoTC. Which, is sort of funny to me as PoTC is supposed to be more of a young adult story whereas Gates of Antillion is a much, MUCH, more adult story.
But, perhaps younger people have a bit more time to invest in a deep story whereas adults want something a little more straight. That is sort of how I am becoming more as a reader and entertainment enthusiast; let’s get to the point a liiiitle bit faster.
I finished another issue of Away Team this week, which was my goal, and as it turned out was what I needed to focus on anyway since I have developed some wrist pain – most likely due to playing too many hours of Baulder’s Gate on the weekends – and had to switch to typing on my phone rather than using a keyboard. I am thankful that taking a break from keyboard typing, and gaming, has mostly resolved my wrist issues. I plan on getting back into the PoTC universe next week.
As always, thanks for reading my blog and looking at the stories that I have created. If you would be so kind as to leave a comment that would really help me out. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
I hope you all have a wonderful week! And I will make sure to get back to doing these blogs weekly.
Cheers,
Dane
